Teddy Starling is an Associate in Mullen Coughlin’s Incident Response practice area. When an organization is victimized by a data privacy and security incident such as a ransomware attack, business email compromise or other network intrusion, Teddy serves as the organization’s Breach Coach, counselling the organization on their legal, regulatory and/or contractual obligations stemming from the incident. After an incident is identified and contained, Teddy works with third-party forensic investigators and other incident response stakeholders to further counsel her clients. Depending on the nature and scope of the incident, counsel may include individual and business partner notification, law enforcement and regulatory body reporting and the provision of credit/identity monitoring. She also assists organizations in responding to formal and informal regulatory investigations by state, federal or industry-related bodies and to follow-up questions related to data privacy and security incidents.

Prior to joining Mullen Coughlin, Teddy was an Associate in the Corporate Governance and M&A department of a class action law firm. While there, she litigated shareholder derivative actions on behalf of institutional and individual investors and investigated transactions for breach of fiduciary duties.

Teddy received her J.D. from Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law, where she was a member of the Moot Court Board, Asian and Pacific American Law Students Association and the Fashion Law Society.
