Brett Swanson is an Associate in Mullen Coughlin’s Incident Response service area. As a “breach coach,” Brett assists organizations with the response to, and investigation of, data privacy and security incidents by working with third parties in identifying the nature and scope of the incident. Brett counsels organizations on their legal, contractual and industry-related obligations stemming from the incident including notification, credit and identity monitoring, as well as any subsequent regulatory investigation.
Prior to joining Mullen Coughlin, Brett was an associate attorney practicing in education and civil rights law, primarily representing students in education cases involving numerous education-related statutes and regulations. Prior to private practice, Brett was a Legal Intern for the School District of Philadelphia, conducting legal research and internal investigations related to Title IX and Title VII compliance.
While attending Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law, Brett served as a member of the Moot Court team earning the law school’s award for “Best Oral Advocate” and the CALI Award for “Appellate Advocacy.” She also provided pro bono services to the Montgomery County (PA) Child Advocacy Project – a non-profit organization whose mission is to end and prevent child abuse and neglect.
