Marc Primelo is an Associate with Mullen Coughlin, primarily practicing in the Incident Response practice group. As “Breach Counsel” for organizations who have been victimized by a data privacy and security incident, Marc leads and oversees the privileged investigation into the incident, working closely with various incident response stakeholders including forensic investigators, cyber insurance claims teams, data mining firms, law enforcement and others to contain the incident, mitigate its ongoing effects and determine what legal and/or regulatory obligations are triggered based on applicable state, federal, international and industry-specific laws, regulations and guidance.

Prior to joining Mullen Coughlin, Marc was an Assistant District Attorney (ADA) for the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office. There he managed a diverse caseload investigating claims, drafting and filing legal responses and conducting evidentiary hearings and oral arguments.

Marc received his J.D. from Rutgers Law School where he served as “Business Editor” for the Rutgers International Law & Human Rights Journal. He also held an internship as an Honors Intern with the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and legal internships with the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General and the Essex County (NJ) Prosecutors Office.

Outside of his practice, Marc is a certified advanced scuba diver and an experienced classical guitarist.
