Michael Fitzgerald is an associate attorney at Mullen Coughlin. Mr. Fitzgerald focusses his practice on data privacy and cybersecurity, with an emphasis on assisting clients with data privacy events, network security, and incident response. Mr. Fitzgerald assists clients with post event analysis and response, directs forensic investigations, and advises clients on the interpretation of state, federal, and international data privacy laws. Mr. Fitzgerald also works with his clients to satisfy any notification duties created by a data event and respond to any subsequent regulatory inquiries.
Prior to joining Mullen Coughlin, Mr. Fitzgerald practiced insurance defense litigation at regional law firms based in Philadelphia. He defended clients in insurance coverage/ bad faith matters, financial services litigation, and third-party general liability claims. Mr. Fitzgerald also has experience representing clients in class action matters in Federal Court.
Mr. Fitzgerald is a 2015 graduate of the Syracuse University College of Law. While in law school, he was an intern at the Erie County (NY) District Attorney’s Office and a law clerk for the Honorable John T. Curtin, Senior District Judge of the Western District of New York.
