Michael J. Bonner is an associate attorney at Mullen Coughlin LLC. Mr. Bonner focuses his practice on cybersecurity and data privacy issues, including assisting clients with investigations of and responses to data security incidents. When an incident occurs, Mr. Bonner coordinates the investigation to determine the scope of the breach and identify the applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and contractual provisions that often require response and notification. In the event of a breach, Mr. Bonner will work with his client to comply with the applicable state, federal and international laws and manage the vendor services associated with the breach response. Mr. Bonner also assists his clients in preparing for and responding to state and federal regulator inquiries.
Prior to joining Mullen Coughlin LLC, Mr. Bonner spent over a decade at the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office. Mr. Bonner served as the Assistant Chief of the Special Investigations Unit where he investigated and prosecuted all levels of municipal corruption and law enforcement use of deadly force. Mr. Bonner also served as a prosecuting supervisor of the Philadelphia County Investigating Grand Jury and actively managed complex and confidential white-collar criminal cases.
