Nathanael F. Williams is an associate attorney at Mullen Coughlin LLC. Mr. Williams’ practice focuses on data privacy and cybersecurity issues. Mr. Williams assists clients of all sizes from the private and public sector with data privacy events, network security, and incident response. In the event of a breach, Mr. Williams counsels his clients every step of the way to provide an effective, efficient, comprehensive, and coordinated response to the data security event. This includes determining the nature and scope of the potential intrusion and any legal obligations arising under applicable contracts or state, federal, and international law. Mr. Williams also assists his clients with mitigating potential harm to the client and affected individuals by rapidly responding to any regulatory investigations or notification obligations that may arise.
Prior to joining Mullen Coughlin, Mr. Williams earned his juris doctor from Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law where he focused his studies on internet and data privacy law. During law school, Mr. Williams served as a faculty research assistant for Professor Brett Frischmann, The Charles Widger Endowed University Professor in Law, Business, and Economics, by researching various internet law and data privacy issues. Mr. Williams also held law clerk positions in the Delaware Department of Justice and Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General working on data privacy matters and regulations. Prior to law school, Mr. Williams was a Senior Fraud Analyst at Bank of America. During this time, he acted as a subject matter expert for fraudulent credit card applications and investigated and analyzed complex credit card fraud rings.
