Tony Alvarez is an Associate with Mullen Coughlin, practicing in the Incident Response service area. When an organization becomes the victim of a real or perceived data privacy and security incident, Tony counsels them in their response and investigation. This includes the coordination of third-party forensic investigation firms, data mining firms, public relations firms, credit/identity monitoring firms and other stakeholders in the incident response process. Tony also assists clients in determining their notification obligations stemming from the incident, if applicable, according to state, federal, international and/or industry-related laws and regulations.
Before private practice at Mullen Coughlin, Tony was an Assistant District Attorney (ADA) for the Office of the Lehigh County (PA) District Attorney. As part of the “Gang Task Force,” Tony conducted criminal trials through pretrial motions up to and including post-conviction appeals. Prior to joining the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office, Tony was an ADA in the “Major Trials Division” of the Office of the Philadelphia County District Attorney.
Tony earned his Juris Doctor from Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law where he was a member of the Moot Court and the Trial Team, competing in national competitions in California, Georgia, New York, Texas and Washington, D.C.
