Fahina Chowdhury is an Associate at Mullen Coughlin, primarily serving as an organization’s Breach Coach after a real or suspected data privacy and security incident. She works closely with the various incident response stakeholders, including cyber insurance carriers and brokers, forensic investigation firms, law enforcement and data mining firms, among others, to effectively and efficiently lead a legally compliant response and investigation into said incident(s).

After the incident is contained and any effects are mitigated, Fahina counsels victim organizations on their legal, regulatory and contractual data privacy obligations stemming from the incident. This includes, depending on the nature and scope of the incident, individual and third-party notification; law enforcement and regulatory body reporting; ransom negotiation and payment; and procurement of credit and/or identity monitoring and public relations/communications. She is well-versed in counseling organization with their data privacy obligations under U.S. state and federal data privacy law.

Fahina also represents organizations in state, federal and industry-related regulatory investigation defense.

Prior to joining Mullen Coughlin, Fahina was an associate attorney at a Philadelphia-based full-service law firm. There, she managed a variety of litigation matters related to products liability, general liability and premises liability.

While a J.D. candidate at Temple University Beasley School of Law, Fahina was the Co-President of the South Asian Law Student Association. She is fluent in Bengali, and conversational in French, Hindi and Urdu.
