Practice Areas

Nicole M. Bayer is an Associate at Mullen Coughlin and focuses her practice on providing counsel to organizations experiencing a data privacy or security incident. Following an incident, she assists victim organizations in determining the nature and scope of the incident and with the identification of potentially impacted populations. This involves counseling them on the applicability of state, federal and international data privacy and information security laws and regulations.

Prior to joining Mullen Coughlin, Nicole was an associate at a prominent Philadelphia insurance defense firm, practicing in their Casualty Litigation department. Her practice involved defending insured and self-insured entities and individuals in various litigation matters such as motor vehicle accidents, construction site incidents, premises liability and products liability.

Nicole previously served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable D. Webster Keogh of the First Judicial District, Civil Trial Division. There, she assisted in various court proceedings (including jury and bench trials), conducted legal research on complex legal matters and drafted judicial opinions.

Nicole earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where she graduated cum laude. During law school, she was a member of the Journal of Law and Public Policy and served on the executive board as the Productions Chair. In addition to her participation with the Journal, Ms. Bayer also earned certificates in Criminal Law and Family Law, received the Universityโ€™s “Pro Bono Certificate of Excellence” and was inducted into Phi Delta Phi Honor Society. Nicole also served as a Judicial Extern to the Honorable Mary Day Coker of the Eighth Judicial Circuit, before working in the Office of the Public Defender as a Certified Legal Intern.
