Brittany Bickel is a Partner at Mullen Coughlin who focuses her practice on data privacy and security incident response. Brittany guides organizations through all aspects of incident response including determining the nature and scope of the incident; working closely with forensic investigators and law enforcement to determine the cause of the incident and to confirm that the incident has been contained; identifying the entities and individuals affected by the incident; and assessing the legal duties and compliance with such duties arising from the incident. She also assists clients with facilitating legally compliant notices to affected individuals and appropriate regulators, as necessary, and responding to any resulting inquiries.
Brittany has experience counseling organizations in the healthcare and life sciences industry, navigating relevant industry-specific laws and regulations including the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). She also has experience in counseling organizations in the professional services industry across a variety of business sectors.
Prior to joining Mullen Coughlin, Brittany was an M&A Tax Consultant at a “Big Four” accounting firm where she assisted clients in determining and evaluating the tax implications of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, reorganizations and refinancings.
