Julia Peare is an Associate in Mullen Coughlinโs Incident Response practice area. She assists in coordinating the response and investigation into data privacy and security incidents on behalf of organizations across all industry group sectors and of all sizes. Working closely with external incident response stakeholders, such as cyber insurance claims teams, DFIR firms and law enforcement, to efficiently identify the nature and scope of the incident, as well as legal and regulatory obligations arising from the incident. This includes notification to individuals, business partners, law enforcement and regulatory bodies (if applicable) based on U.S. state and federal data privacy and information security laws and regulations. She also assists in procuring post-incident remediation services for impacted populations such as credit and identity monitoring and public relations.
Prior to joining Mullen Coughlin, Julia was a Legal Extern at a leading cyber insurance carrier. There, she researched and analyzed new and existing privacy regulatory developments and related business implications โ experience she uses when counseling victim organizations on their data privacy and information security legal obligations.
Julia received her J.D. magna cum laude from Roger Williams University School of Law, and also holds a Master of Arts in Cybersecurity.
