Kevin Farrell is a Partner at Mullen Coughlin. He represents organizations, particularly in the healthcare and life sciences industry, through the full incident response process.
Before joining Mullen Coughlin, Kevin was an associate at a Montgomery County, PA-based defense litigation firm, representing physicians, physician groups, hospitals and other healthcare providers in medical malpractice litigation. Prior to that, he was a Law Clerk for the Honorable George S. Leone in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division.
While a student at Rutgers University School of Law, Kevin was “Notes Editor” for the Rutgers Journal of Law & Religionย and the winner of the Clinical Education Award for Outstanding Legal Intern.
Prior to his legal career, Kevin was a television producer at an NBC-affiliate in West Virginia. There, partnering with a local hospital system, he created an award-winning reality series focused on regional health issues.
Kevin has a long history of being a youth sports coach and an active volunteer in his community.
REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS
- Counseled an organization that owns long-term care facilities through incident response efforts related to the disclosure of certain private and confidential information, including notification to requisite individuals and regulatory authorities
- Advised an international data analytics company, in coordination with EU counsel and other foreign territories, in its investigation and response to a data privacy and security incident impacting global operations
- Represented an auto parts manufacturer in its investigation and response to a ransomware incident impacting the security of company data and causing a disruption in operations
- Counseled a national insurance broker in its investigation and response to a ransomware incident impacting hundreds of customers, and responded to subsequent state and federal regulatory investigations
- Advised a national financial services company during its investigation of a business email compromise (BEC) incident impacting over 100,000 company clients
