Baylé Beermann, an Associate, practices in Mullen Coughlin’s Incident Response practice area. She is a Breach Coach for organizations across all industries, coordinating the response to, and investigation of, data privacy and security incidents. After an incident is identified and contained, Baylé works closely with the victim organization’s internal incident response team and third-party forensic investigators to review digital evidence in order to ascertain how the incident happened, who initiated the incident and what data/information may be at risk due to the incident. She then counsels the organization on any legal and/or regulatory obligations stemming from the incident, such as law enforcement and regulatory agency reporting, individual and third-party business partner notification, provision of credit/identity monitoring and drafting of communications surrounding the incident.

Before joining Mullen Coughlin, Baylé practiced general insurance defense and general civil litigation. Her experience with the insurance industry, the various claims processes and underwriting knowledge allows her to communicate effectively with cyber insurers on behalf of her clients, oftentimes leading to efficient client service and incident response for her clients.

Baylé received her J.D. magna cum laude from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, where she was a member of the Loyola Law Review, inducted into the Order of the Barristers Honors Society and the recipient of numerous awards relating to her academics such as legal writing, trial advocacy and mediation. She received her B.A. in English from Spring Hill College.
