Caitlyn Sarudy is an Associate practicing in Mullen Coughlin’s Incident Response practice group. She serves as Breach Counsel for organizations of all sizes and across all industry sectors who have been victimized by a data privacy and security incident. She leads the privileged investigation into incidents such as ransomware attacks, unauthorized network intrusions, third-party vendor breaches, and business email compromises (BECs) to determine the scope and nature of the incident and to identify any legal, regulatory, or contractual obligations stemming from the incident. This includes notification – including to individuals, business partners, law enforcement, and regulatory agencies – and the coordination of other services such as communications and public relations, procurement of identity and credit monitoring services, and post-incident regulatory inquiries and follow-up.
Throughout her practice, Caitlyn routinely interacts with cyber industry stakeholders including cyber insurance carrier claims teams, digital forensics and data mining firms, and local, state, federal, and international law enforcement bodies.
Prior to joining Mullen Coughlin, Caitlyn was a Law Clerk to the Honorable Sylvester Cox in Baltimore City Circuit Court.
Caitlyn received her J.D. cum laude with a certificate in Cybersecurity and Crisis Management from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law. While a J.D. candidate, Caitlyn was a member of the Cyber Law and Data Privacy Association and the “Articles Editor” for the Law Journal of Race, Religion, Gender & Class. She was also a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Team. Caitlyn is licensed to practice in Maryland.
Caitlyn holds a B.A. magna cum laude in Political Science and History from St. Mary’s College of Maryland.
