Elisabeth Wright is an Associate attorney at Mullen Coughlin, practicing in its Incident Response practice group. She serves as Breach Counsel for organizations who have suffered, or are in the midst of, a data privacy and security incident such as a ransomware attack, network intrusion or business email compromise (BEC), among others.

In her practice, she routinely works with victim organizations, their internal stakeholders and external, third-party forensic investigators to identify the nature and scope of the incident, mitigate the incident on the organization’s operations and identify any legal, regulatory or contractual obligations stemming from the incident. This includes determining notification obligations based on a variety of state, federal, international laws and statutes, as well as regulatory guidance from federal and industry-related regulatory agencies. She also works closely with law enforcement in reporting incidents on behalf of her clients, especially as it relates to ransomware or BEC incidents.

Prior to her legal practice, Elisabeth was a Law Clerk with Mullen Coughlin. She worked closely with attorneys across all practice groups to assist in compiling necessary information regarding data privacy and security incidents, as well as with conducting legal research and drafting written analysis of her findings.

Elisabeth also previously served as a Judicial Extern for the Hon. Michael J. Newman of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. There, she gained valuable legal and court experience assisting Judge Newman with the drafting of court orders surrounding a variety of legal issues.

Elisabeth received her J.D. from the Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law and her B.A. cum laude from Elon University.
