James A. Cope is an Associate at Mullen Coughlin. Mr. Cope focuses his practice on assisting clients with data privacy events, network security and incident response. In the event of a breach, Mr. Cope assists clients in determining the nature and scope of the event and counsels clients throughout the response, which includes the coordination of a forensic investigatory team. Mr. Cope works with the client to ensure they are complying with legal obligations as a result of the event under applicable state, federal and international law. Further, Mr. Cope assists in response to regulatory investigations and inquiries.
Prior to joining Mullen Coughlin, Mr. Cope worked for a large international civil litigation and insurance defense firm where he focused his practice in the areas of professional liability, product liability, construction defect and general liability.
