James P. Bradley, Jr. is an Associate practicing in Mullen Coughlin’s Advisory Compliance practice area. An experienced data privacy attorney, James counsels organizations with pre-incident and proactive data privacy and information security services and solutions so that they may better position themselves with respect to compliance with the various state, federal and international laws and regulations governing the handling of employee, client, customer and business partner data. He is well-versed in over 400 international data privacy, information security and cloud computing laws and regulations from over 95 countries, including the European Union’s (EU’s) General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and works with the various U.S. state-specific comprehensive data protection laws (e.g., California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)/California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).

James counsels his clients on a variety of Advisory Compliance solutions, including, but not limited to:

  • Cyber Incident Response Tabletop Exercises;
  • Incident Response Plan (IRP) and other data protection policies/procedures development
  • cross-border data transfer and processing agreement development and review;
  • third-party vendor and M&A due diligence; and
  • data privacy compliance program(s) development.

Prior to joining Mullen Coughlin, James worked at a major global financial services company facilitating cross-border data clearance for clients around the world. There, he served as a primary project manager on a variety of high priority company projects, ensuring compliance with data privacy laws in over 95 countries.

He also previously worked as a trial attorney for a major international insurer handling premises liability, motor vehicle, product liability, construction accident and subrogation cases. Prior to that he served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Delaware County Office of the District Attorney.

James received his J.D. from Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law and his B.A. in History from Loyola University.
