Meghan M. Novak is an Associate in Mullen Coughlin’s Advisory Compliance group and focuses her practice on counseling organizations across all industries with data privacy, information security and incident response.

She works closely with organizations on the development of comprehensive data privacy and information security compliance programs, tailored to their industry sector and geographic scope of operations in compliance with U.S. federal and state data privacy and security statutes and regulations.

In addition to her Advisory Compliance practice, Meghan also counsels victim organizations in responding to, and investigating, data privacy and security incidents. She uses her Advisory Compliance knowledge to effectively and efficiently identify applicable state, federal and international legal and regulatory obligations as it relates to law enforcement reporting, individual and business partner notification and regulatory follow-up or inquiries.

Prior to joining Mullen Coughlin, Meghan worked at a leading insurance defense firm where she represented clients in a variety of civil litigation matters in state and federal court related to professional liability, labor and employment, educational rights and civil rights.

She earned her J.D. from Pennsylvania State University Dickinson School of Law where she was selected for the school’s national Moot Court Mock Trial team. Meghan graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.
