Mitch Slifka is an Associate in Mullen Coughlin’s Advisory Compliance practice group. He focuses his practice on counseling organizations from all industry sectors with proactive and pre-incident data privacy and information security compliance – assisting organizations with risk management and legal compliance across U.S. federal, state, and local regulatory regimes, as well those from international jurisdictions including the United Kingdom (UK) and European Union (EU).

Mitch is also routinely called upon to assist clients with the development and implementation of various data privacy and security programs, policies, and procedures related to industry regulation, emerging technology such as artificial intelligence (AI), and incident response preparedness. He also assists in the development and facilitation of Cyber Incident Response Tabletop Exercises and other employee, executive, and board data privacy and security training presentations and modules.

Mitch was a Law Clerk with Mullen Coughlin prior to joining as an Associate. Clerking with the Advisory Compliance practice group, he assisted in preparing and developing Cyber Incident Response Tabletop Exercises, analyzed newly enacted data privacy and consumer protection laws, and tracked the progress of pending legislation related to data privacy and protection, artificial intelligence, and highly-regulated industry sectors such as healthcare and life sciences, financial services, education, and government.

Prior to Mullen Coughlin, he was a Business Development Intern for a private equity firm where he assisted in the evaluation of potential portfolio companies.

In addition to his J.D. from the University of Kentucky J. David Rosenberg College of Law, Mitch also holds an LL.M in Banking and Financial Law from Boston University School of Law and an MBA from the University of Kentucky Gatton College of Business and Economics. He received a B.A. cum laude in Political Science and Criminal Justice from the University of Alabama.
