Samuel M. Sica, III is a Partner at Mullen Coughlin and focuses his practice on of data privacy and security incident response. Following the discovery of a data privacy and security incident, Sam works to ensure his clients’ compliance with any applicable contractual or statutory duties by guiding them through the investigation of the incident and the identification of the legal duties arising from the incident. He works with his clients to develop appropriate messaging following an incident and to identify the best means of communicating this message in compliance with any legal duties. In addition to handling the response to a data privacy and security incident, Sam assists organizations in responding to any resulting regulatory inquiry.
Sam previously served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Charles A. Ehrlich of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. Following his clerkship, he served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Chester County District Attorney’s Office and the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office. As a prosecutor, Sam handled criminal matters ranging from attempted murder to complex white-collar investigations, including felony bench and jury trials.
