During this year’s annual Florida Society for Healthcare Risk Management & Patient Safety (FSHRMPS) Meeting & Education Conference, Partner Kevin Mekler co-presents the session “Cyber Risk at ‘DEFCON 1 Level!’” on August 25 from 2:30 pm-3:30 pm.

Joined by Greg DeLoach, Angela Lee and Mark Landers of Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA), this presentation provides attendees with the information they need to understand the incident response (IR) process after a simulated ransomware attack on a hospital’s network. Session participants will leave the session with an understanding of the key players involved in the ransomware IR process; best practices for healthcare organizations to follow prior to, during and after, a data privacy and security incident; and how cyber insurance can provide an extra layer of protection against similar incidents.
