Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Attorney

Mullen Coughlin is a highly successful, fast growing niche law firm focused exclusively on representing organizations facing adverse data privacy events and information security incidents. Committed to rapid incident response to incoming client calls, we wear jeans any day of the week and thrive in a high energy, close-knit, and upbeat office culture! The Firm pays very competitively in the market and offers a full benefit package including unlimited time off and a generous 401(k) program. Currently located in the Wayne/King of Prussia PA area, the Firm will move to Devon, PA during the summer of 2020.

In this role, Associates will work in a highly collaborative, team environment and under the guidance of a Partner to provide legal counsel to organizations investigating and responding to data privacy and cybersecurity incidents. Responding to a continual flow of incoming cases, Attorneys will collect information needed to understand the issue and scope of each situation, primarily via phone and email, and will communicate to regulatory and law enforcement agencies as needed while advising clients throughout the investigation. Due to the unpredictable nature of cybersecurity events, all Partners and Associates participate in a rotating on-call schedule to provide crisis management support to our clients. On-call shifts are assigned as occasional weekends or a couple of evening shifts per month.

The ideal candidate will have membership in good standing to the Pennsylvania Bar, a curiosity to learn more about cybersecurity law, and an enthusiastic and team-oriented attitude. Exceptional analytic, writing, communication, and preparation skills, plus focused attention to detail are key to performing well in our highly responsive environment. Candidates should demonstrate initiative and the ability to independently maintain their own caseload and have a desire for advancement. Specific data privacy/cybersecurity experience is not required.

We are currently looking for Associates who generally bring 2 to 8 years of experience, with preference given to those who have worked in private practices within healthcare, regulatory compliance, and with class action cases.
