Mullen Coughlin LLC welcomed three (3) new associates to its Incident Response practice group this past September – Alvin Barskiy, Brendan Brown and Elena Valentine.
Alvin Barskiy is based in New Jersey and serves as Breach Counsel to organizations who have been victimized by data privacy and security incidents. He brings over five (5) years of legal experience in data privacy and incident response, having spent the beginning of his career as an associate attorney at a full-service law firm in their Cybersecurity, Data Privacy and Incident Response practice area. There, he gained unique insights into the various types of data privacy and security incidents and relevant laws and regulations that impact a variety of industries, in particular the commercial real estate industry. Alvin is fluent in Russian. He’s licensed to practice in New Jersey.
Brendan Brown, based in Devon, PA, joins the firm after serving as a Law Clerk in the Cumberland County, NJ Court’s Civil Division. He previously assisted small businesses with research related to data privacy laws and regulations and with drafting website terms-of-use and privacy policies while a “student attorney” at Villanova University’s Clinic for Law and Entrepreneurship. He received his J.D. from the Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law and is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania.
Elena Valentine, based in Devon, earned her J.D. from Rutgers Law School and previously served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Hon. Michael R. Ostrowski, Jr. of the New Jersey Superior Court. While a J.D. candidate at Rutgers and Managing Research Editor for the Computer and Technology Law Journal, Elena had her article regarding biometric data collection and social media published in 2023. She is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania.
