At RIMS’s RISKWORLD 2026 in Philadelphia on May 6, Partner & Chair of the Litigation practice group Carolyn Purwin Ryan presents on the session, “There Is No Spoon: How Website Tracking Technologies Spark Litigation.”
Joined by At-Bay’s Cyber Claims Lead Dana Cuoco and LevelBlue’s Global Head of DFIR Devon Ackerman, this session examines the emerging trends and scope of legal and regulatory exposures resulting from the now ubiquitous website tracking technologies such as Meta Pixel. Carolyn uses her knowledge of the relevant state and federal wiretap, consumer privacy, and tort laws and statutes to provide attendees with counterpoints and legal theories used in class action privacy litigation defense linked to website tracking technologies. The panel also discusses best practices to assess proactive risk management and compliance steps that can mitigate potential legal and regulatory exposure and improve insurability.
